Dorset U13 v Somerset

The Dorset U13’s set off for their first away match of the season with a 16-0 lead confirmed by the
absence of four girls in Somerset’s line up. The boys did not relax on this healthy lead with assertive
performances from Cameron Yorke (21-10, 21-12) and Harry Cook (21-6, 21-6) setting the tone for
the afternoon.

In the girls singles Willow Houlson started impressively with 21-2, 21-3 and with Alex Donnelly
winning 21-18, 21-6, the overall score was an unassailable 27-1 as the boys doubles got underway.
Dorset showed the strength in depth winning all the boys doubles. In the pick of the games third
seeds Matt Bliss and Alex Burton won 21-19, 16-21, 30-28, against Somerset’s top pair.

With Alex and Willow winning their only doubles match 21-7, 21-6, they then combined well with
partners Jamie and Cameron in the mixed to complete a 35-1 victory.
